Learn your fasting blood sugar numbers!
Normal – Less than 100
Prediabetes – 100-124
Diabetes – 125 or higher
To reduce your risk regardless of family or current history – have appropriate nutrition, obtain and maintain a healthy weight, stay active, avoid being sedentary.
Once again, Judy Newberger is co-facilitating the evidence-based Diabetes Self-Management Program on Zoom, sponsored by the York County Area Agency on Aging from January 13 through February 17, 2021 for those with diabetes or prediabetes or caregivers of those with diabetes. Limited to those age 60 and over.

National Family Caregivers Month
Caring for loved ones with disabilities, whether physical mental or emotional, can be difficult for the caregiver. Caregivers often neglect caring for themselves and feel alone especially during this pandemic. Many online resources are available for you and your loved ones:
Provides practical information daily for caregivers.
Includes information, articles and links to other resources and support. Non-members may use this resource.
PA state program offering resources for caregivers plus offers reimbursement for caregiver’s out-of-pocket care such as respite, supplies, and more.
Caregiver Connection – newsletter for caregivers of older adults plus other resources and workshops.
